11.5sq.m area for a master bedroom.
Separate wardrobes for the husband and wife, ample amount of storage so that the needs do not spill out to the living room, visually light and yet aesthetic and a dynamic space which converts itself into a work space when needed.

material palette
The theme of the materials was decided to be light so as to make the room look spacious. And the contrast between the grey and the light wood would break the monotony and the heaviness of a single dominating material. The dark blue in a small amount, would balance the other two materials and add the required color to the room. Playing with hints of copper was essential to bring life to the earthy theme and connect these three together.
The wardrobe and the bed were all pushed on the same wall so as to keep the rest of the space clutter-free. The pull out tray serves as a side table and a workspace as and when required. And the headrest also provides us with an opportunity for more hidden storage.

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe,

The copper would run through the whole wardrobe as lines, breaking where important, and elevated from the surface thus functioning as a handle yet being part of the larger design.

*This project was executed in collaboration my dear friend and a fellow architect, Mr. Mukund Iyer (www.sochalaya.com)
